With a passion for educating women about money and investing, Kim Kiyosaki draws on a lifetime of experience--in business, education, real estate and investing--in her mission to empower women to take control of their financial lives.
Her belief: The world would be a better place if there were more Rich Women. At first blush this statement may seem to be an obvious assumption, but Kim digs deeper into wealth as it relates to happiness, relationships, self-esteem/self-worth and celebrations of success.
A self-made Rich Woman, Kim hosts a national television show for PBS, is a sought-after speaker and a columnist for WomenEntrepreneur.com. She’s married to Robert Kiyosaki, entrepreneur, investor, teacher and author of the international mega-bestseller Rich Dad Poor Dad, but remains a fiercely independent woman. Her first book, Rich Woman: A Book on Investing for Women, hit the BusinessWeek bestseller list a month after its release in early 2006 and has held a spot there ever since. Rich Woman is also an international bestseller in South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, India, and Mexico.
Kim has used the international forum that her book and her life with Robert has afforded to raise awareness for the need for financial education and the importance of each individual, man or woman, to take responsibility for their financial future.
She entered the business world with a top Honolulu advertising agency and by age 25 she was operating a Honolulu magazine serving the business community. It didn’t take long for Kim’s entrepreneurial spirit to surface and two years later she ventured into her first business: a clothing company with national distribution.
Not long after launching that company, Kim joined Robert, her business partner and today her husband of 20 years, in teaching entrepreneurial business around the world. That business grew to support 11 offices in seven countries, presenting business seminars to tens of thousands of attendees.
In 1989, Kim began her real estate investing career with the purchase of a small, two-bedroom, one-bath rental house in Portland, Oregon. Today, Kim’s real estate investment company controls millions of dollars in property.
Kim and Robert, who married in 1984, sold their education seminar business and 10 years later, in 1994, they ‘retired.’ In 1997, with the launch of the CASHFLOW 101 game and Rich Dad, Poor Dad, they founded The Rich Dad Company that would take the Rich Dad messages and mission of financial literacy to international prominence. Today The Rich Dad Company encompasses not only books and games but a wide range of educational products, Rich Dad’s Coaching, Rich Dad’s Academy and Rich Dad’s Franchise.
