Hilary has written numerous articles on public relations topics and taught seminars for entrepreneurs eager to explore PR to ignite their business ventures. Passionate about helping women business owners, Hilary has served as the board director of PR for the National Association of Women Business Owners (Orange County Chapter) since 2002 and received the organization’s Remarkable Woman Award in 2004. Vanguard University presented Hilary with the prestigious Ethics in America "Business Pillar Award" in 2008. Hilary, who began her career as newspaper journalist, holds a master's degree from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and a bachelor's degree from UC Santa Barbara. An early "green" proponent, she co-authored Plant Extinction: A Global Crisis with UC Irvine Professor Harold Koopowitz. She also co-edited Newport Beach: The First Century. Dedicated to a variety of philanthropic organizations, Hilary is a founding member of the United Way's Women's Philanthropy Fund and NAWBO-OC's Women’s Business Institute; her team Ruby's Raiders, named in memory of her mother, Ruby, walks each year in the MS Walk in Orange County and has earned both the Top Corporate Team and Most Inspirational Team awards.
